Can You Send, Reply or Forward with Temporary Email?

You received a message in a temporary inbox and now need to answer it. On InboxFlick there is no Reply or Compose button: the temporary mailbox receives messages only. The next step depends on whether you need one answer, ongoing replies or automatic forwarding.

Create an address

Receiving a message does not create a sending account

An address can accept incoming mail without providing a way to send it. InboxFlick does not provide outbound mail, replies, automatic forwarding or SMTP credentials. Its mailbox address is not a username you can add to another mail app to unlock those features.

If you only need to read a confirmation code, that is enough. If the sender expects an answer, choose a sending-capable account before sharing an address. The distinction between an email account and an address explains why the two services can look similar at first.

If you need to reply once

Open an email account you control and start a new message to the sender’s verified contact address. Briefly explain which request you are answering and give a non-sensitive reference if you have one. Your reply will come from that account, so the recipient will see its address.

For an unfamiliar message, find the organization’s contact route independently before responding. Do not copy a login code, reset link or private message into a reply just to prove that you received it. If keeping your usual address separate matters, use a separate account intended for correspondence.

If you need replies without sharing your main address

A provider that offers an email alias or relay may fit a continuing conversation. Check whether it supports replies, which address recipients see, whether the alias can be disabled and how recovery works. Forwarding alone does not promise that replies will hide your main address.

A Gmail alias can help organize incoming messages, but it is tied to the underlying account. Read how aliases differ from temporary Gmail addresses before treating a variation of your address as a separate identity.

If you need to forward a copy

Automatic forwarding requires the receiving service to support a forwarding rule. InboxFlick has no such rule. You can copy non-sensitive text into a message you compose elsewhere, but that is a manual copy, not a forwarded original with the same headers or attachments.

For work records, receipts or support conversations, receive the original in a permanent mailbox from the beginning. A message body copied from a temporary inbox may leave out details you need later. See the address checklist for receipts before placing an order.

If the website asks you to send a message to verify

Some workflows require you to send an email from the address you entered. Receiving the instruction is only half of that task. Use an accepted account with sending access and update the website’s contact address if needed.

Do not try to put a temporary address into the From field of an unrelated service. You do not gain control of an address by typing its name, and the receiving website may check that the message really came from the claimed sender.

Email forwarding and postal forwarding are separate

“Temporary mail forwarding” can also mean redirecting letters while you are away. An internet email inbox has no role in that process. For physical mail, use the relevant postal operator’s service. For email, select a provider that explicitly offers the forwarding and reply behavior you need, then test it with a harmless message before relying on it.
