Temporary email lifetime depends on the provider. Some addresses expire after a fixed countdown, while others remain available longer; the important details are when time starts, whether extensions are allowed, and whether the inbox can ever be recovered.

Terms such as temp mail, disposable email, burner email, and 10 minute mail describe a category rather than one technical standard. A provider may count from address creation, first use, or another event. Check the displayed expiry instead of assuming the name guarantees a specific duration.
InboxFlick starts with 10 minutes
The countdown begins as soon as a new InboxFlick mailbox is created, not when the first message arrives. The current remaining time appears with the active address. A slow sender can consume most of the lifetime before a message reaches the inbox.
Extensions can reach a one-hour maximum
Select Extend 10 minutes before the current expiry to move the deadline forward. Repeated extensions cannot pass the fixed maximum of one hour from creation. This limit prevents a temporary inbox from silently turning into a long-term account.
Expiry stops access and delivery
After expiry, the browser cannot read, extend, or recover the inbox, and the address is no longer treated as active for delivery. Cleanup permanently removes messages and the mailbox record. Manual destruction ends access earlier and starts the same irreversible outcome.
A delayed message may arrive too late
The sender controls when a message leaves its system and may retry delivery. Extend while the inbox is still active if a code is delayed, but do not assume every queued message will arrive before the maximum lifetime. Repeatedly requesting codes can also invalidate earlier codes.
Choose permanent email for future contact
If a service may send receipts, login alerts, password resets, invoices, tickets, or re-verification messages days later, use a permanent address from the beginning. Temporary email is appropriate only when the entire consequence fits inside a short and disposable window.
